The second half of 2025 marked another strong period of innovation for SambaSafety. We continued to expand our training content library, enhance our telematics and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) capabilities, and broaden our support for fleets and insurers around the globe.
Whether you’re managing a fleet with thousands of drivers or assessing their risk as an underwriter, these updates address the same fundamental challenge of turning more data into better decisions, faster. Here’s how we’re making that possible for you. Here’s a look at the key updates helping our customers achieve better safety outcomes.
New & Updated Training Content
We significantly expanded our eLearning course library with new formats and content designed to meet the evolving needs of today's fleets.
Introducing SafetyShorts
Our new SafetyShorts format delivers critical safety content in under 60 seconds. These micro-courses are ideal for quick refreshers and just-in-time training, reinforcing topics like Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports, Seat Belts, and Air Brakes that are covered in depth with our more comprehensive training courses. SafetyShorts make it easy to assign timely, relevant training throughout a driver’s employment without becoming redundant or disrupting operations.
New Courses
We've added several new trainings to address specialized fleet needs. Our English Language Proficiency (ELP) courses help non-native English speakers prepare for increased roadside enforcement with a refresher on the ELP requirements, communication protocols, and highway sign recognition. The new Canadian Hours of Service training ensures cross-border fleets stay compliant with Canadian regulations for daily driving and on-duty limits, duty cycles, and proper methods for recording hours of service. And our expanded Injury Prevention catalog addresses the physical demands of commercial driving with courses on proper lifting techniques, ergonomics, and occupational safety.
Continual Course Enhancements
All our courses are built in-house using instructional design best practices and our mastery-based training methodology, which requires a 100% score before completion. We recently refreshed many of our courses, including Air Brakes: Heavy Duty, Seat Belts, Driver Vehicle Inspection Report, and select Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) modules with updated content, formatting, and graphics. Our realistic 3D visuals and animations are tailored to specific vehicle types and driver roles, ensuring maximum relevance and retention that leads to real behavior change.

Driver Training Mobile App
Our driver training mobile app puts safety training directly in drivers’ hands, making it easy to complete assigned courses anytime, anywhere. The app provides a seamless training experience with intuitive navigation, progress tracking, and embedded help resources. It is designed to reduce barriers to training completion and drive greater engagement with the course material.
Recent enhancements include push notifications that alert drivers to new assignments and upcoming due dates without requiring email, simplified login for faster access, and auto-logout configuration for shared devices. These updates make it even easier for drivers to stay on top of their training requirements while giving fleet managers confidence that training is being completed.
Expanding International Support
Building on our commitment to serving fleets worldwide, we extended our mobile app and recommended training capabilities to U.K. customers. This expansion complements our growing library of international training content, including U.K.-specific micro-learning modules and our Pro-DEFENSE curriculum in French Canadian, Spanish, and U.K. versions with localized narrations, visuals, and regulatory considerations.
Making Telematics Easier to Manage
Our telematics capabilities continue to evolve, making it easier than ever to turn driver behavior data into actionable insights. We enhanced our alert management to help fleet managers focus on the events that matter most, reducing noise while ensuring critical risks are surfaced promptly for swift action.
We now connect with more than 100 telematics service providers (TSPs) and OEMs. That means whether you're a fleet leveraging multiple telematics devices across different vehicle types or an insurer trying to compare data across policyholders, you get normalized, consistent data that's actionable. Our platform will translate your raw telematics feeds into clear risk signals, unified workflows, and contextualized alerts that prioritize what matters.
MVR & License Monitoring Updates
Our industry-leading license monitoring and MVR solutions continue to set the standard for accuracy and timeliness. We've made ongoing improvements to our state connections, ensuring you receive the most reliable and up-to-date driver record information available. These enhancements support better risk assessment and faster, more confident decision-making for fleets and insurers.
Feature Spotlight: Risk Index & Benchmarking
SambaSafety’s Risk Index provides an intuitive, accurate scoring model that quantifies driver risk and enables meaningful benchmarking. By synthesizing data from MVRs, telematics, and other data sources into a single score, the Risk Index helps fleet managers quickly identify high-risk drivers, prioritize interventions, and measure the effectiveness of their safety programs over time.
The Risk Index Report delivers actionable insights, showing driver risk across a business and pinpoints drivers that require immediate attention. This visibility empowers safety leaders to allocate resources effectively and demonstrate the ROI of their driver safety initiatives.
Data Solutions for Insurers
Insurers now can access SambaSafety’s comprehensive driver data for point-in-time risk assessment through both API integration and our new self-service platform. The platform enables underwriters to bulk order MVRs, Activity History, and Activity Indicator data without requiring development resources, making it faster and easier to incorporate driver risk into underwriting decisions.
Our intuitive interface is designed for efficiency. A card-style layout with clear statuses for quick scanning and analysis, flexible download options, and improved alerts allow underwriters to evaluate risk more quickly, without sacrificing accuracy. As we continue to expand our data footprint, we’re now focused on providing greater access to court and public records across states for more comprehensive risk assessment.
Looking Ahead to 2026
Our focus at SambaSafety remains on helping our customers identify risk earlier and intervene more effectively. In 2026, we plan to accelerate these outcomes by embedding AI throughout risk management workflows, streamlining training administration, and delivering more powerful analytics for fleetwide risk assessment.
