Although 2020 as a whole has been a year filled with unpredictability, one thing has remained consistently true and relevant – the need for proactive safety efforts.

From the rapid and continued escalation of the COVID-19 pandemic to stock market uncertainty and work-from-home rhythms, safety and risk professionals have learned to adapt to once-uncharted territory.

What remains a top priority

Although many of your priorities have shifted and evolved, we understand that the health and safety of your employees and customers remains paramount to your success. We’ve had many discussions with SambaSafety customers throughout 2020 about how they’re coping with the pandemic while relentlessly pursuing their mission of reducing risk and promoting safety.

Our best gift of advice we can impart for 2021?

It’s the words of wisdom we heard from those aforementioned customers – now continues to be the time to focus on controlling the risk we can see. After all, driver risk can be managed but requires the right tools, like continuous driver monitoring. As one customer said, “we can’t stop COVID-19 but we can prevent a driver with a DUI from getting behind the wheel.”

Those driver risk tools like continuous driver monitoring help keep your people safe and lower costs ranging from motor vehicle record expenses to insurance premiums. Monitoring also provides peace of mind at a time when it is most needed, during a year filled with ups and downs.

Looking forward

As we look forward to 2021, we see a year filled with opportunity for companies of all sizes to more effectively mitigate and control their driver risk. Mitigating and controlling driver risk isn’t a responsibility that falls on just one person or company – that’s why we’re continuing to work toward our SambaSafety goal of reducing roadway crashes 20 percent by 2025.

Ultimately, safety is the main focus of our business and is engrained in everything we do. Throughout 2020, we hope you were able to remain safe and healthy. We wish you a happy holiday season as well as continued health and happiness into 2021 and beyond.
