July 5, 2022 – SambaSafety, the market leader in driver risk management technology, today announces that Matt Scheuing has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Scheuing succeeds Allison Guidette, who will assume the position of non-executive Chair of the SambaSafety board.

Scheuing brings to SambaSafety more than 20 years of executive leadership in technology and SaaS businesses. With a commitment to building great cultures and teams, product innovation and a clear focus on customer experience, he has led multiple businesses through significant growth to market leadership positions.

He most recently was CEO of Changepoint, the industry-leading provider of SaaS project portfolio management solutions, where he merged three disparate acquisitions into a cohesive enterprise-grade offering with significant customer expansion and growth. His prior experience includes CEO-level positions at organizations ranging from navigation technology to on-demand transportation and telematics.

“I’m thrilled to join SambaSafety as CEO. I’m impressed with the team and end markets we serve and am confident we can build on the strong foundation to create an even more robust business,” said Scheuing. “With our core mission of promoting safer communities through data insights, we look forward to expanding our strong offering to our customers in the global employment and insurance markets.”

Guidette joined SambaSafety in January 2018 and led its strategic market expansion, sales acceleration and product innovation efforts, culminating in its sale in September 2021 to investment funds managed by Stone Point Capital LLC. During her tenure, the company more than doubled in size and quadrupled the number of drivers monitored, expanded its solutions to include online driver training, predictive analytics, and telematics data aggregation and has been recognized year-over-year as a top workplace.

Guidette said, “It has been a privilege to lead the talented team at SambaSafety, and I am proud of our culture, business performance and market leadership. Matt is the perfect choice as CEO to build on the company’s commitment to customer-centric innovation and growth. He has a sincere appreciation for the customers and team that are a part of SambaSafety’s success, and he will make the business even better in the coming years. As non-executive Chair, I can’t wait to support his success.”

Chuck Davis, CEO of Stone Point Capital, said, “We are grateful to Allison for building a successful business with a clear strategy for customer-focused innovation and growth. We feel incredibly fortunate to welcome Matt, who can sustain the strong momentum, scale the business to greater heights and add significant value to SambaSafety’s products and customers.”
