Driving is one of the riskiest things we do in our everyday lives. It’s a task that we tend to write off as monotonous because it’s done so frequently – when in reality we should be cognizant of the potential dangers every single time we get behind the wheel. Everyone deserves to make it home safe and whole.
In a recent blog, we shared a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The report stated that 31,720 people died in motor vehicle crashes throughout the first nine months of 2021. This is a 12% increase from 2020 and the highest number of fatalities reported of any year since 2006.
As roads become more dangerous, all stakeholders – drivers, companies, government departments, insurance carriers and brokers – need to do their part to help make our transportation system a safer place. This includes the work we do here at SambaSafety.
SambaSafety’s New Mission Statement
With this in mind, we recently came together as a team to craft a new mission statement that better aligns with our company goals and objectives. Our new mission statement clearly defines who we are and fuels the work that we do every day:
Promoting safer communities by reducing risk through data insights.
Vice President of Marketing Kristie Wieland led up the internal team that revamped our mission statement. We asked her to share what this new statement means to her and the work she does at SambaSafety:
“When we set out to update our mission statement, it was crucial to solicit input from the entire organization – to capture how we view ourselves and the work we do. Safety is at the core of everything we do, and we are extremely proud of how our mission statement captures our commitment to keeping drivers and our communities safe.”
Our mission statement guides the work of other team members as well. Senior Account Executive Kevin Clarry shares the impact it has on his role:
“Reading our mission statement every day allows me to step back and focus on our main goal… saving lives. What company or person doesn’t want to promote safer communities or help others get home to their families safely every day for dinner? I never truly understood how dangerous the roads were until I started at Samba, and I LOVE that we internally celebrate every new client we sign up. We don’t celebrate because it’s revenue for the company, we celebrate because we can confidently say we saved a life or prevented a crash in the community.”
Making the Safety of Our Communities a Top Priority
